Who are the workshop facilitators?

Here are brief biographies on each of the workshop facilitators:

Jane Fox, BScN, RN
Jane has well over 20 years of experience working in the field of community health and as a certified parenting instructor. She is well known and highly respected in the field of parent instruction from her years of association with the Parent Resource Centre as well as in her private practice. Jane has a wealth of training in both the parenting sector and now, more recently, in the field of conflict resolution. Jane has four adult sons, and is a proud grandmother of one.

Carole McIlhagga, BScN, RN, MA
Carole has over 30 years of experience working with families as a public health nurse. She has been busy giving various parenting courses for over 20 years. From early in her career, Carole became more and more convinced of how anger and conflict play an enormous role in the well-being of individuals and family dynamics. Her ongoing studies of conflict include a certificate of completion of studies at the Canadian Institute of Conflict Resolution, training as a mediator, as well as extensive training with Children’s Creative Response to Conflict. To the position of coordinator of CCRC-Canada, Carole brings experience and a constant search for new and innovative ways to deal with conflict. She continues to offer workshops and trainings in conflict resolution, anger and bullying, mediation, and parenting.

Carole and her husband, Liston, of 37 years, have two adult children who have proved to be successful in their own fields of endeavour. Carole is a facilitator and trainer in conflict resolution with CCRC-Canada.

Bonnie Robinson, BA, BEd
* A retired teacher who completed 30 years of teaching as of Dec., 2000
* A trained CCRC facilitator and trainer
* Trained in peer mediation, with a Ministry of Education Guidance Specialist Certificate
* Introduced a peer tutoring program and coordinated it for 3 years at an elementary school
* Trained and experienced in the use of Non-violent Conflict Resolution, Cooperative learning, as well as Ministry of Natural Resources' Project Wild, Focus on Forests, Wild Moves and Fishways, all of which use an experiential approach to learning, cooperating and empowerment
* Winner of the Teachers' Federation of Carleton Award for exemplary service to its members and the teaching profession, 1993, and the Ottawa/Carleton Elementary Teachers' Federation Mary Hill Memorial Award for service in positions of federation leadership, 2001

Bonnie is a retired elementary teacher who brings a wealth of experience to her workshops in facilitating for CCRC-Canada.

Jane Rutherford, BA, BEd
Joy is a retired school teacher and principal who has a tremendous interest in the arts and dramas, and most particularly in the area of music. joy brings to CCRC her extensive educational experience as well as her administrative acumen. Joy is a trained facilitator and trainer for CCRC.
